Safe-n-EZ™ nucleic acids loading buffer (DNase-free & RNase-free) contains GR Safe II Nucleic Acid Stain, a safe and highly sensitive fluorescent dye that enables instant band visualization during or immediately after running your agarose gel. Supplied in 6X loading buffer, it forms a tight complex with the sample nucleic acids and comigrates with nucleic acids during electrophoresis. After the run, simply place the gel on a standard UV or blue light transilluminator to view nucleic acids bands. No post staining or destaining is required. Safe-n-EZ™ provides a faster, safer, environmental friendly alternative to ethidium bromide.
Safe: GR Safe II is non-mutagenic in Ames tests performed by an independent testing laboratory. Your lab will not have to deal with hazardous EtBr waste: you can simply dispose the gel as regular trash.
Easy: Supplied in 6X loading buffer, simply mix loading buffer with nucleic acids sample (e.g., add 2 µl of the loading buffer to 10 µl nucleic acids sample), run on gel, and visualize bands using a blue light or UV transilluminator (no post staining required). You can also monitor moving nucleic acids bands if you place your transparent gel box on top of a blue light transilluminator.
Sensitive: GR Safe II is 10 times more sensitive than ethidium bromide, more sensitive than GelGreen and SYBR Safe, and as sensitive as GelStar and SYBR Gold.

Storage and Handing
Safe-n-EZ™ Y is supplied as a 6X. For long-term storage the dye solution should be stored at -20 ℃ protected from light. It is stable for 6 months at -20 ℃ and 1 month at 4 ℃.
GR Safe II dye can be completely removed from nucleic acids by alcohol precipitation or Qiagen QIAquick Gel Extraction.
DNA Staining Protocol
Add 2 µl of the 6X loading buffer to 10 µl DNA sample and DNA marker/ladder. Load samples and run the gel using your standard protocol. View DNA bands using a UV or blue light transilluminator.
