Human protein kinase Aurora A

Catalog #: PK107

Product Type: Protein Kinase

Size: 1 mg

$6,500.00

Qty:

Aurora kinases play key roles in centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation during cell division. While only one kinase is present in yeast, three different aurora kinases have been found so far in mammalian cells (AuroraA, AuroraB and AuroraC). The three serine/threonine kinases fulfil different functions. Whereas AuroraA plays important roles in centrosome maturation and bipolar spindle formation, AuroraB is required for chromosome bi-orientation and cytokinesis. The third member, AuroraC, is specifically expressed in male germline during meiosis. The three human kinases share a very conserved C-terminal catalytic domain, but each of them possesses an N-terminal that is different in size and in sequence. AuroraA and AuroraB are coincidently overexpressed in various human cancers, suggesting that aurora kinases may play a role in oncogenic transformation.

Human protein kinase Aurora A, serine threonine kinase, recombinant and active enzyme, purity > 90 % by SDS-PAGE
